As one of my neighbors told me, “We’re all messed up in one way or another!”

You deserve to be happy, but life is full of challenges. We all deal with things like stress, anxiety, regret, unexpected changes in our lives, difficulties in our relationships, and children misbehaving. Some people are emotionally drained by trauma, depression, addictions, or infidelity.

All of these are only symptoms. I work with you to identify the underlying cause. Then I show you how to minimize or eliminate it.

You deserve to be happy!  You can get great counseling with me at Fireproof Counseling.  Why look any further?

If you want to have Gottman Method Couples Therapy, you should look for someone who is Level 3 Gottman Certified — like me! Don’t settle for a therapist who has only read Gottman’s books. Likewise, if you’re interested in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP), find someone who has the Eagala Certification — also like me!

These proven therapy techniques can make your life better and help you achieve your goals.

You should consider the following when choosing a therapist:

  1. License of the therapist. Licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFT) view concerns and problems from a relational perspective. This means LMFTs will assess, monitor, and help individuals, couples, and families to shift existing boundaries and emotional barriers. These shifts create and balance more preferred outcomes.
  2. Education, training, and certifications beyond a master’s degree. Therapists should continue to seek knowledge after obtaining a Master’s degree. This sharpens their existing skills and develops new abilities to enhance existing practices.
  3. Empathy and connection. Proactive therapists create and maintain an environment of warmth, acceptance, congruence, safety, and non-judgmental mannerisms and behaviors. This therapeutic and relational alliance promotes healthy, positive, and intrinsic and growth.
